Quota internet simply means limited internet. The monthly limit for users’ internet usage is known as quota. It can also be summarized as data transfer limit. For example, if you bought a 4 GB internet package, 4 GB is your internet quota. If you exceed this quota, your internet access will stop. If you use too much, it will be reflected on your bill as an additional fee.
The Fair Use Quota, which was in effect before , was lifted on January 1, 2019. However, this does not mean that the concept of ‘quota’ has completely disappeared from our lives.
Today, many packages with and without quota continue to be offered by internet service providers and mobile operators. There is a certain limit on quota packages. When you exceed this, your internet stops or inflates your bill even if you continue to use it. This varies according to your tariff.
Consider Internet Quota When Choosing a Package
Quota internet packages do not allow unlimited use. For this, the internet – so to speak – must be used sparingly. If you do not want your quota to run out immediately, you should stay away from activities such as constantly downloading or uploading files, watching videos, video chatting, playing online games.
Internet quota is not easily filled by simply browsing web pages. You don’t need a high quota package if you are usually busy with social media or if you spend all your time reading on the internet.
However, as mentioned above, low quota packages will not work if you are doing intense activities such as games, file transfers, live broadcasts, and watching TV series and movies. If you do not want to use your preference for a package without quota, it is recommended that you at least buy a package with a high quota.
In some of the operator’s tariffs, the internet is interrupted as a result of exceeding the quota. So your bill won’t rise. However, in some packages, when the customer exceeds the quota limit, subsequent uses will be charged to the invoice. Care must be taken for this.
How to Query Quota Internet?
You can find out how much you spend with quota internet usage , how many GB or MB you have left, from the customer service of your service provider or operator. Or you can access your usage details by entering the Online Transactions section of your account.
Internet Quota Removed?
Today, the application called fair quota has been removed in most of the home / workplace fixed internets, but there are still companies that sell quota packages. On the other hand, the quota is still increasing in Portable Mobile / GSM packages. There are not many quota-free packages on mobile yet.
