Before asking the question of what is the internet quota, I would like to talk about a sentence that we hear very often; “My quota is full :(” Quota literally means “putting a limit on the number of goods bought or sold”. Internet quota sets the limit for our internet download amount. In our country, internet quota is applied in two ways.
1- Internet Quota
Quota internet packages are mainly applied in mobile internet. The internet quota, which means that the internet service is completely stopped when the download limit is reached, is also applied in broadband. But it is not preferred by users .
2- Fair Usage Quota
Unlike the quota, AKK is the use of the internet at lower speeds without interruption when a certain download capacity is reached. For example , you are using a tariff of 24Mbps 50GB AKK , while your download speed is 24Mbps, when you download 50GB files , your speed is automatically reduced to 3Mbps . You continue at this speed until the quota renewal period. When your time expires, you continue to use the internet at 24Mbps .
Fair Usage Quota Removed
The fair use quota was abolished as a result of the decision taken by the Information Technologies Authority (BTK). All tariffs with a fair usage quota have become quota-free. With the abolition of AKK, apart from the increase in packages without quota, it went into effect directly in packages with quota, and Snaki technology went back and some companies increased the number of packages with quota. Although it is not preferred by users, it can be preferred by those looking for an economical solution.
Turk Telekom Internet Quota Application
When the fair usage quota was abolished by Turk Telekom, it was also lifted for all companies with a wholesale internet agreement. If companies do not apply quota in the background, they have become quota-free without any extra action. No restrictions were imposed on the direct quota application, all internet service providers have the right to apply quotas. Although there is no quota in the broadband market, GSM companies providing mobile internet service continue to sell quotas. After 5G technology, it will be necessary to abandon the quota application.
With the developing technology, high quota packages are preferred. Even if only sporadically, GSM companies have started to issue quota-free mobile internet tariffs. You can find out who provides quota-free service from the quota-free internet infrastructure inquiry page.
