Virtual Metro is a load balancing system in which multiple copper, fiber or 4.5G lines are combined and the traffic reaches the collection point equally from more than one line and outputs to the Internet over a single IP.
There are more than one Virtual Metro application, respectively, the methods are as follows.
Load Balancing Method It is a method of
combining more than 1 internet line with load balancing and sending it to the datacenter and collecting it under 1 IP address and providing output. In this method, output is provided from all lines as much as the line with the lowest capacity can exit. For example, if you have 3 32/2 lines, 96/6 traffic can be reached. If one of the lines works as 24/1, the other lines can reach a maximum download speed of 24Mbps, even if it is 32Mbps. In this model, you can combine as many lines as you want with different operators with the same features.
Upload and Download Balancing Method from Different Lines In
this method, while the download is running from one line, the upload is running from a different line and the line is combined. For example, you have 5 32Mbps lines and 1 30/30 metro ethernet circuit, the total download speed of vdsl and metro ethernet is combined as 180Mbps, and the upload only works over metro ethernet. Again, the line converging in the datacenter exits over a single IP address.
Vivanet Virtual Metro (Method without Datacenter) Since
adsl and vdsl services are provided over Vivanet servers in Vivanet Virtual Metro service, the line converges and works as a single ip without leaving the datacenter. It pings 1-2ms faster than other methods and all management is done from a single center.
Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Metro
Do I have to join the line in the datacenter? Can’t I combine it with a router myself?
You can combine the line with load balancing yourself, but since the shared load will reach the destination via different IP addresses, banks, games, etc. You will have access problems and you will be banned from the services.
Which device should I use to join lines?
Our recommendation is to use at least RB3011UiAS-RM from Mikrotik. You can use it on devices of different brands and models.
Should the IP address of the lines to be joined be fixed?
Yes, the IP addresses to be merged must be fixed.
Do I have any problems keeping logs in the merging application?
Since your internet output will be over a single IP, you will not have any problems with the Turkey 5651 law.
How fast can we reach in the Vivanet Virtual Metro application?
In Vivanet Virtual Metro application, 100Mbps download and 4Mbps upload speed can be reached on 1 line. You can get service by opening ports as much as the speed you want to reach and the speed supported by your infrastructure. For example, you need to connect 5 lines to reach 100Mbps download and 20Mbps upload speeds.
